IB Heads Council

The International Baccalaureate has councils and boards that support the organization in its functions. The IB Heads Council consisting of 11 members which serves as an advisory group to the Director General. It assists with issues that affect IB World Schools. Members are elected by IB World School heads, with four members from each IB region.

I have been elected onto this council as a representative of Latin America. I took up office in January 2018 for a period of three years. To this end, I will be invited to take part in two meetings per year with other representatives of IB schools in the rest of the world together with the Director General. It will be my responsibility to take the points of view and opinions of the other Heads of IB Schools throughout Latin America to the Heads Council for discussion.

Towards the end of March, I will be travelling to Singapore to attend my first meeting. This meeting will be taking placing during the IB Heads Conference which I will also be attending. The theme is “IB Shaping the Future”and main focus is on technology. In October I will be travelling to The Hague for the second meeting of the year.

My election onto the IB Heads Council is not only an honour for me but more importantly raises the profile of Euroamerican College within the education community of Peru and the International Baccalaureate Organization in general. In the next few years I hope to continue to improve Euroamerican College by bringing even more modern ideas to enable our community to remain in the vanguard of education.
