How to improve the immune system

HOW TO IMPROVE THE IMMUNE SYSTEM The immune system is our body’s natural defense made up of a complex network of cells, tissues and organs that work as a team to combat invading agents or infections, such as those caused by bacteria and viruses. This immune system is directly connected to our nervous system and the endocrine system, creating a connection network between them in which each system influences and modifies the other. For this reason, to have a strong immune system, it is necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle, implementing a plan that involves actions on both a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. The most important actions to stay healthy are:
  • Eat a balanced diet, rich in fruits, vegetables and proteins.
  • Avoid excessive consumption of sugar, coffee, alcohol, tobacco and ultra-processed products.
  • Do an aerobic exercise routine at home. Let’s take advantage of these days to reinforce this healthy habit and combat anxiety.
  • Sleep well. Have an adequate night’s rest of between 6 and 8 hours a day.
  • Develop adequate emotional regulation. Avoid stress, excess anger, fear, shame or guilt.
  • Develop a good sense of humor, laugh frequently.
  • Maintain a healthy mental state: take care of our thoughts by eradicating limiting beliefs and feeding ourselves with positive and empowering thoughts.
  • Awaken our spiritual connection: meditate, practice yoga or tai chi, always seeking to be in harmony with oneself and others. It is also essential to have a strong sense of purpose and transcendence in life guided by universal values of love, kindness , equity and peace.
